2023 EURLS joint-training session on Measurement Uncertainty in Uppsala
The course will be organised by the working group (WG) for measurement uncertainty (MU), which is a joint WG including participants from:
- EURL-Campylobacter,
- EURL-Coagulase Positive Staphylococci and,
- EURL-Listeria monocytogenes.
Dates
The training course will be held at SVA in Uppsala, Sweden, from Tuesday 17 to Wednesday 18 October 2023. It will start on Tuesday 17 at 9:00 am at and finish on Wednesday 18 October at 12:00 noon.
Programme
The training course will focus on the implementation of EN ISO 19036:2019 Microbiology of the food chain — Estimation of measurement uncertainty for quantitative determinations. Draft agenda available >>>> here <<<<.
An overview of the standard and corresponding guidance document prepared by the WG for MU will be given to the participants through theoretical lectures and exercises in groups.
At the end of the course, the participants are expected to be able to implement the standard in their laboratories.
Please note that the participants will be asked to bring their own laptops.

Funding
EURLs will reimburse the expenses related to travel, accommodation, and subsistence of the selected applicants according to the EU rules.

EURL for Campylobacter has reserved rooms for you at Hotel Botanika (https://hotellbotanika.se/) at Skolgatan 45 in Uppsala, at a rate of SEK 1125 per night. If you want to make use of this reservation you need to book the room yourself by sending an e-mail to bokning@hotellbotanika.se copy eurl-listeria@anses.fr indicating your name and e-mail address and that rooms have been reserved by SVA and the following reservation number “15972” by Saturday 30 September.

Selection criteria:
• Training needs of the NRL;
• If a given laboratory has several NRL mandates, only one applicant from the same laboratory can participate;
• Only one participant per country for each EURL can participate;
• Priority will be given to NRLs that did not participate in the first on-site Training Course on Measurement Uncertainty in 2022.
