LISTERIA MONOCYTOGENES MOLECULAR SEROTYPING: AMPLIFICATION OF THE GENE FlaA

This document describes the method for the amplification of the gene coding for the
flagelline A. This method is an additional test to the molecular serotyping of Listeria
monocytogenes (MI CEB 13, based on the Doumith et al, 2004 method). This method can be
performed in parallel of the molecular serotyping (MI CEB 13) but is required for the strains
that could be “discordant” (groups IIa and IIc).
