Welcome to the website of the European Union Reference Laboratory for Plant parasitic nematodes

The European Council and the Commission have designated the Plant Health European Union Reference Laboratories (EURLs) to assist the National Reference Laboratories (NLRs) and the EU Commission in several legal acts to prevent, control and eradicate major plant diseases.

The consortium between ANSES (France) and ILVO (Belgium) is designated as the European Union Reference Laboratory for plant parasitic nematodes under COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION (EU) 2019/530 of 27 March 2019.

The EURL plant parasitic nematodes is responsible for providing the NRLs with knowledge, tools for accurate detection and identification methods on regulated plant parasitic nematodes.
